Meet Milizhia Mills

I never imagined that some of the hardest seasons of my life would one day become part of my purpose.

I’m an author, HR professional, advocate, and speaker who is passionate about creating spaces where people feel seen, heard, and reminded that healing is possible. As a former foster youth, I know what it feels like to navigate abandonment, brokenness, grief, uncertainty, and the pressure of trying to survive while still becoming who you were created to be.

Writing became one of the ways I started making sense of my story.

Through my debut book, Overcoming My ABCs: Abandonment, Brokenness, and Chaos, I share personal reflections, lessons, and experiences centered around faith, resilience, mental health, healing, and hope. My prayer is that people who read my story walk away knowing they are not alone and that their pain does not disqualify them from purpose.

Outside of writing, I work in Human Resources and public service while continuing to mentor youth and young adults, advocate for mental health and foster care awareness, and speak in spaces that encourage honest conversations and real healing.

No matter where life has taken me, one thing has remained true: God has continued to write a story greater than the pain I thought would define me.
